At Purina, we're passionate about enriching the lives of pets and the people who love them. We're seeking a skilled Electrical and Automation Engineer to join our team at the Blayney Petfood Manufacturing Facility.
Key Responsibilities:- Design, install, maintain, and upgrade electrical infrastructure to support factory operations.
- Participate in Capital Investments projects to ensure technical solutions meet corporate and market standards.
- Develop user and technical specifications for electrical and automation systems.
- Ensure process and equipment safety for people, products, and the environment.
- Manage changes to MES-E&A solutions through effective change management.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of factory operations through process mastery and product characteristics.
- Supervise and coordinate automation and MES maintenance and project work with electricians and contractors.
- Collaborate with production, quality management, and engineering teams to resolve automation and MES issues.
- Develop a deep understanding of processes and strive for quality, safety, and efficiency improvements while protecting technological know-how and competitive advantage.
- Implement engineering tools at site level, such as NSAT, NEST, AMM, etc.
- Ensure MES-E&A installations comply with market and corporate safety, health, environment, product safety, and product quality standards.
- Maintain up-to-date MES-E&A documentation, including SLD, URS, FDS, calibration procedures, etc.
- Strong leadership skills with a drive to deliver quality outcomes.
- Degree or diploma in Electrical and Automation Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in automation and/or MES engineering with electrical experience.
- Experience in supervising technical teams, contractors, or 3rd parties.
- Participation in engineering project development as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Start-up experience with technical equipment and/or production lines.
- Desirable: exposure to TPM, preventive maintenance planning, and/or maintenance execution.
- Proficient in Allen Bradley PLC installation, programming, and troubleshooting.
- In-depth knowledge of instrumentation, process control, real-time management, MES, man/machine interfaces, and communication.
- Proven ability to influence and negotiate to drive high standards of performance and quality.
