Research Opportunities in Translational Science

**Job Overview:**

This is a position for a research professional to work within both the Molecular Imaging and Theranostics laboratory, and the Atherothrombosis and Vascular Biology laboratory.

**Key Responsibilities:**

- Participate in the design, execution and management of translational research projects.
- Perform literature reviews relevant to the respective research area.
- Prepare research papers and manuscripts for publication and presentation at conferences and workshops, and actively participate in the writing of project reports, and grants.
- Coordinate the conduct of experimental tests and procedures as well as the acquisition and critical analysis of research data.
- Develop new methodologies, experimental designs and analytical methods.
- Coordinate and supervise the work of laboratory/research assistants, students and other support personnel, including supervision of undergraduate and postgraduate (Honours, Masters, MD, and PhD) projects.
- Provide mentorship to all laboratory members and serve as a consultant to the project director, grant principal investigators and laboratory head.
- Development of novel diagnostic and therapeutic technologies.

**Requirements:**

- A PhD in biotechnology or pharmacology preferred. Experience in molecular biology, production of mRNA therapeutics for gene therapy required.
- Proven track record in obtaining funding and publishing manuscripts. Confidence in performing a diverse range of laboratory techniques required.
- Understanding of research areas related to mRNA therapeutics, nanotechnology, pharmacology and cardiovascular diseases.
