Job Title: Medical Coordinator
">The role of a Medical Coordinator is to provide administrative support in a medical setting. Key responsibilities include greeting patients, collecting and entering personal details, managing waiting rooms, processing patient admissions, and scheduling further appointments.
">Key Responsibilities:
">- Manage front reception and practice duties.
- Work as part of an administration team to support doctors daily.
- Rotate duties of front reception and doctor reception, rotating early and late shifts.
- Answer telephone calls and respond to enquiries.
- Book new patient referrals, prepare daily clinics, and send referral reminders.
- Triage referrals to on-site specialists.
- Collect and enter patient information, manage waiting rooms, and process patient admissions.
- Schedule further appointments for doctors and clinic appointments.
- Set up consulting rooms, prepare paperwork for appointments, and manage incoming/outgoing mail.
- Organise theatre/hospital bookings and allied health referrals.
- Manage patient billing and debtor management.
- Support WHS Officers and committees to effectively carry out their responsibilities.
- Model and promote the company's vision and values.
Requirements:
">- Experience in a similar role in Day Oncology/Haematology desirable but not necessary.
- Medical Secretary experience within a specialist setting also desirable.
- Experience with Medicare, DVA, and Private Health Insurance.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and written.
- Ability to use computer systems - competence required in Word and Excel.
- Deliver excellent client service (to internal and/or external clients).
- Possess basic knowledge of medical terminology.
