The School of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering at the University of New South Wales is seeking a highly skilled Research Associate to join a prestigious ACM CRC project led by Rux Energy. The project focuses on the design and advanced manufacture of carbon composite H2 tanks for heavy mobility.
Key Responsibilities- Assist in the selection of materials for composites used in a proof-of-concept cryogenic composite tank.
- Develop storage system simulations to guide the design and manufacturing approaches of larger tanks for commercialisation.
- Participate in conferences and workshops to share research findings and best practices.
- Assist with the supervision of students and engage with fellow researchers at UNSW and other institutions.
- A PhD (or equivalent) in a related discipline, such as Mechanical/Aerospace/Materials/Manufacturing Engineering.
- Proven commitment to staying up-to-date with industry developments and advancements.
- Demonstrated ability to conduct high-quality academic research and work independently with minimal supervision.
- A track record of publications and conference presentations.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to interact with diverse stakeholders and students.
- Understanding of and commitment to UNSW's values and policies.
- Knowledge of health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant training.
