Government Litigation Assistant Job

We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Legal Assistant to support our client's litigation team in a fast-paced environment.

About the Role:

  • This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in government litigation, supporting a Commonwealth Government department with various matters including Immigration, Disability, Child Support, and Freedom of Information.
  • You will provide project and administrative support, manage files, draft and amend documents, record court orders, and undertake research tasks as required.
  • A key aspect of this role is providing high-level support to a Partner and their team, contributing to critical aspects of litigation cases.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide project and administrative support to a Commonwealth Government department
  • Manage files, including drafting and amending documents
  • Record court orders and information in the litigation management system
  • Filing of court documents on the Commonwealth Courts Portal
  • Undertake searches and research tasks when required
  • Billing

About You:

  • Experience as a legal secretary or assistant in a similar role
  • The ability to manage time efficiently and use initiative
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • A proactive and enthusiastic approach to your work ethic

Salary Estimate: Based on industry standards and comparable roles, we estimate the salary for this position to be around $65,000 - $80,000 per annum, depending on experience.
