About The Role

The Department of Natural Resources and Environment Tasmania (NRE Tas) is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Spatial Information Officer to join our team. As a key member of our mapping service, you will be responsible for producing high-quality cartographic products, including topographic, recreation, and tourist maps.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deal with the full range of LIST datasets and access a diverse range of software from GIS to graphic arts to produce digital and hardcopy maps.
  • Harness your curiosity and drive innovation developing projects from inception to completion and implementation, while working in close association with the data managers, maintenance, and client services areas.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • An Advanced/Associate Diploma in Applied Science, or equivalent level, in a Spatial Sciences related discipline, as provided by either a university, a vocational education organisation or a registered and accredited training provider. Or extensive demonstrated experience, eight years or more, working directly in the field of Mapping and GIS providing high quality outputs.
  • A current motor vehicle driver's licence.
