**Cybersecurity Advocate Role**

Job Description:

The Cybersecurity Advocate plays a vital role in safeguarding the open-source community and its users from emerging threats. As part of a dedicated security team, you will work collaboratively with skilled professionals to monitor, triage, respond to, and document new and existing vulnerabilities in open-source software.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Protecting the open-source community and Ubuntu users from emerging threats
  • Monitoring, triaging, responding to, and documenting new and existing vulnerabilities in open-source software
  • Collaborating with internal teams and external partners to identify issues, prioritize them, and coordinate remediation

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Thorough understanding of common security vulnerabilities and techniques for fixing them
  • Familiarity with coordinated disclosure practices, open-source development tools, and methodologies
  • Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as C, Python, Go, Rust, Java, Ruby, PHP, or JavaScript/TypeScript
