Key Responsibilities
  • System Administration: Provide expert-level administration of our Windows Server OS platforms, including installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of the operating system and applications.
  • Server Management: Manage and maintain server hardware and software, including SAN systems, hypervisors, and backup systems.
  • Active Directory Administration: Administer and maintain Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy, including design, configuration, and troubleshooting.
  • Virtualization: Administer virtualization technologies such as VMware and Hyper-V, including the design, configuration, and support of virtual environments.
  • Cloud Management: Provision and manage cloud-based resources, such as Azure, including monitoring and optimizing performance and availability.
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to servers, applications, and infrastructure.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with other teams, such as network and security teams, to ensure the smooth operation of the entire IT environment.
  • Documentation: Develop and maintain system documentation, standard operating procedures, and knowledge base articles.
Requirements
  • Expertise in Microsoft Windows Server: Expertise in Microsoft Windows server operating systems, including Active Directory, Group Policy, and DNS.
  • Hardware and Software Configuration: Proficiency in hardware and software configuration, installation, and administration in a Wintel environment.
  • Virtualization Technologies: Strong understanding of virtualization technologies such as VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V.
  • Scripting Languages: Knowledge and experience of scripting languages such as PowerShell to automate tasks and improve system management.
  • Server Hardware Technologies: Familiarity with server hardware technologies and configurations, including RAID, SAN, and NAS.
  • Experience in Wintel Systems Engineering: Several years of experience in Wintel systems engineering, including deploying, and maintaining small to large-scale systems.
  • Server Migrations and Upgrades: Experience with server migrations and upgrades, including hardware and software changes.
  • Disaster Recovery Planning: Experience with disaster recovery planning and execution, including backup and restore processes.
  • Infrastructure Technologies: Demonstrated experience in configuring and administering various infrastructure technologies such as storage, databases, and middleware.
  • Security Concepts: Familiarity with security concepts and protocols such as encryption, firewalls, and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
  • Certifications: Certifications in the above technologies are highly desirable.
