Program Overview

The cadetship is designed to equip you with the necessary tools and expertise to succeed in the fast-paced world of journalism. Our ideal candidate will have a demonstrated interest in storytelling, a willingness to learn, and a keen eye for detail.

Key Responsibilities
  • Participate in formal journalism training sessions to hone your craft
  • Gain practical experience in producing high-quality content for multiple departments
  • Rotate through editorial departments under the mentorship of senior editors
  • Develop innovative story ideas and produce engaging content that resonates with our audience

You will also have the opportunity to build relationships, expand your network, and break exclusives in areas that interest you.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Proven interest in journalism or practical experience in writing
  • Strong knowledge of racial issues in Australia and their impact on different communities
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-changing news environment
