Monitoring and Evaluation Leadership Opportunity

We are seeking a seasoned professional to lead the design and implementation of monitoring and evaluation methodologies for our organisation.

The successful candidate will develop and refine program logics and MEL plans to ensure consistent tracking of program outcomes. A key responsibility will be establishing standardised indicators and metrics that make up our impact framework, along with the methodologies required for their collection.

This role requires collaboration with various teams, including Program Managers, the Project Management Office, IT Manager, and Communications team, to design and deliver impactful dashboards that clearly visualise program outcomes and impact.

The Monitoring and Evaluation Leader will play a pivotal role in strengthening our commitment to transparency, accountability, and continuous improvement in our mission to protect the Great Barrier Reef.


About the Role
  • The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years' experience in developing fit-for-purpose monitoring, evaluation and learning frameworks, particularly in large, complex environmental and social programs and initiatives.
  • Demonstrated experience measuring, evaluating and reporting on the impact of large, complex projects and programs, drawing on lessons learned.
  • Experience building MEL capability within organisations and delivery partners through training, mentoring, and resource development.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and complex environment with rapidly changing responsibilities.

Key Skills and Qualifications
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to prepare high-quality written reports and presentations.
  • Demonstrated experience in managing complex projects, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and resource allocation.
  • Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills, with a proactive and practical approach to identifying and addressing issues.
