Warehouse Operations Manager

Job Description:

  • Manage the efficient running of facilities to meet operational targets and comply with WHS requirements.
  • Responsible for managing warehouse staff and supporting in the warehouse when work levels require it.
  • Facilities include maintenance and sub-contractors.
  • Manage racking layouts, bin locations, bulk storage, quarantine and ITAR cages, packing and dispatch work areas etc for new facilities.
  • Focus on ensuring new warehouses are planned with best practice and WHS policy in place.
  • Manual handling of goods in/out, ensuring product protection and arranging freight.
  • Use forklifts to safely move goods around the warehouse.
  • Closely follow goods receiving and requesting processes for various departments and projects.
  • Work in SAP to ensure accurate stock control.
  • Supervise and lead a team of warehouse operatives to meet operational targets.
  • Oversee receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods to ensure accuracy and on-time delivery.
  • Implement and monitor warehouse policies and procedures to optimize productivity and safety.
  • Identify and resolve operational issues, making recommendations for process improvements.
  • Liaise with customers, transport providers, and other key stakeholders to ensure exceptional service.
  • Coordinate staffing schedules, training, and development to build a capable and motivated team.
  • Maintain detailed records and generate reports on warehouse activities.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Strong focus on WHS and operational procedures.
  • Ability to manage warehouse staff and operations effectively.
  • Experience in using SAP for stock control.
  • Good communication and customer service skills.
