Opportunity Overview

This is a challenging position that exists to provide support to our Zinc Operations in Mount Isa.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring on-shift incident reporting, investigation and management meet Glencore and George Fisher mine standards and guidelines. They will also support, coordinate, and coach the George Fisher mining teams to assist meet budgeted operational and safety objectives.

About You
  • You will have demonstrated supervisory or mining professional experience in underground hard rock mining operations.
  • You will possess in-depth knowledge of underground mining processes, bottlenecks, equipment, and plant capabilities.
  • You will have excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as excellent interpersonal skills.
  • You will be a motivated, outcome-oriented person with knowledge of applicable legislation, standards, and codes of practice.
  • You will have ability to interpret weekly and monthly mine plans, priorities, and key deliverables.
About the Role

The successful candidate will drive compliance and execution of weekly mine plan. They will ensure activities are aligned to the weekly mine plan by clearly communicating key deliverables for the day to the operations supervisors. They will also provide visible felt leadership and drive Glencore values.
