Skilled Tradesperson Wanted

We are seeking skilled tradespeople to join our operation at the Whyalla Steelworks.
The successful candidate will be a key member of our integrated maintenance crew, responsible for maintaining the reliability and performance of plant equipment through both preventative and reactive maintenance activities.
- Fitting
- Machining
- Instrumentation
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct fault finding and reactive repairs to plant and mechanical equipment to minimise downtime and restore functionality.
- Complete scheduled maintenance activities, including during planned plant shutdowns.
- Provide technical support to production, maintenance management, and reliability teams to improve asset performance.
- Accurately record all maintenance activities in the Computerised Maintenance Management System (CMMS – SAP).
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives that enhance equipment reliability, safety, and operational efficiency.
- Maintain compliance with safety procedures and work standards, ensuring all tasks are carried out safely and effectively.
- Assist in planning and executing maintenance strategies to align with operational goals and long-term asset care plans.
To be successful you will have:
- Australian Trade qualifications (minimum of Certificate III)
- A strong commitment to safety
- Knowledge and experience in hydraulic systems
- Experience in fault finding and troubleshooting repairs on various plant equipment
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment is preferred, but not essential
- Strong attention to detail and quality control
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of safety standards and regulations within a manufacturing environment
- Physical stamina and ability to work on your feet
