Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Data Platforms Manager to lead our Commercial Data Platforms function. As a key member of our Technology, Digital and Data team, you will be responsible for people leadership, technology, and roadmap delivery across our data engineering and technology components.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a team of AWS and data engineering professionals to deliver data platforms that enable News Corp Australia to monetize its commercial data assets.
  • Manage technology vendors and service providers to ensure the delivery of key technology components, including data governance, AWS, GCP, Adobe Experience Platform, and more.
  • Develop and implement data monetization strategies to drive business growth and revenue.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver business outcomes and drive innovation.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in engineering delivery and platform management, with a focus on data engineering and digital domains.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proven experience with Agile and Waterfall methodologies, with the ability to deliver outcomes through cross-functional teams.
  • Experience with AWS and Google Cloud data engineering technologies, with a strong understanding of data governance and strategy.

Desirable Criteria

  • A career that originated from a software engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 10 years of developer experience, with a strong understanding of business analysis and technical documentation.
  • Experience with media industry technologies, including Vertex AI, NodeJS, and more.
