About the Role

We are seeking a Health and Safety Advisor to join our team at Laing O'Rourke, a leading construction and infrastructure company. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the implementation of our Health and Safety Management Plan and ensure best-for-project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively address Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) concerns by engaging with personnel performing tasks or activities.
  • Supervise and mentor accident investigations up to and including Potential Class 1.
  • Conduct risk assessment workshops to identify and mitigate potential hazards.
  • Ensure HSE standards are understood and upheld across the organization.
  • Monitor and conduct regular HSE governance checks to ensure compliance.
  • Conduct thorough investigations into incidents and near-misses.
  • Develop and deliver toolbox talks and inductions to promote a safety-first culture.

About You

  • Certificate IV in Occupational Health and Safety or working towards one with prior experience in a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of reports and systems, with the ability to utilize technology to drive safety outcomes.
  • Preferred qualifications include ICAM, RRTWC, and RIW.
  • Hands-on experience in assisting supervision and management with HSE issue/action closeout within the workplace.
