Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Full Stack Java Developer to join our team. As a Full Stack Java Developer, you will be responsible for designing and developing cloud-based applications using Java 8 and Typescript. You will work closely with our cross-functional team to deliver high-quality software solutions that meet the needs of our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Design and develop Java 8/Typescript code to implement the goals of the sprint and deliver value to our business partners.
  • Cloud Architecture: Contribute to the design and development of our modern Java cloud micro-service architecture.
  • Front-end Development: Contribute to the design and development of our front-end Typescript/AngularJS application.
  • CI/CD Pipeline: Help build out our CI/CD pipeline and AWS deployment infrastructure.
  • Product Ownership: Take ownership of the product, contribute improvement and innovation ideas.
  • Testing: Contribute to best practice testing across unit, integration and end to end tests.
  • Attention to Detail: Attention to detail for the look and polish of web applications.
  • Team Collaboration: Work within a cross-functional Scrum team. Participate in all Scrum ceremonies such as planning, estimating and retrospectives. Contribute to the continuous improvement of team processes.
  • Support and Deployment: Participate in support and deployment activities as required.
Requirements
  • Commercial Experience: 5 + years proven commercial experience in web development;
  • Java 8: Excellent knowledge of Java 8.
  • Spring Boot and Spring Cloud: Excellent knowledge of Spring Boot and Spring Cloud.
  • SQL and ORM: Knowledge of SQL and ORM technologies.
  • Typescript and Javascript: Excellent knowledge of Typescript and Javascript (ES and AngularJS
  • Modern Web Frameworks: Familiarity with modern web frameworks such as React, Angular or Vue desirable.
  • Cloud Deployment: Understanding of cloud deployment with Docker and AWS.
  • Monitoring Tools: Experience with monitoring tools such as New Relic/Sumo Logic.
  • AWS Ecosystem: Experience with AWS ecosystem such as S3, EC2, Lambda, SQS.
  • Software Development: Knowledge of software development, micro-service and message bus design considerations and patterns.
  • Atlassian Suite: Ability to work in the Atlassian suite of products. JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket and Bamboo.
  • Source Code Management: Source code management with git.
  • Security Implications: Understanding of security implications for web applications (OWASP).
  • Financial Services: A background in financial services applications is an advantage.
