Job Opportunity: Diesel Fitter Apprentice

The diesel fitter apprentice role is an exciting opportunity for individuals to develop their mechanical skills and knowledge in a fast-paced construction environment.

This apprenticeship involves working with experienced trade qualified personnel to learn the intricacies of plant machinery and equipment, braking and steering systems, cooling systems, emissions systems, and air-conditioning systems.

  • Responsibilities include inspecting, servicing, and repairing plant machinery and equipment, as well as diagnosing and repairing braking and steering systems.
  • Additional duties may include assisting in carrying out light fabrication work, using hand and power tools, and maintaining daily records of plant, labor, and materials used.
Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, applicants should possess:

  • A passion for mechanics and a willingness to learn.
  • A Construction White Card (can be completed online prior to commencing). Additionally, a valid drivers licence and reliable transport are essential.
  • Competent numeracy and literacy skills, as well as the ability to undertake TAFE studies and complete at a satisfactory level within a timely manner.
  • Motivated and reliable individuals who can work effectively in a team environment.
