Procurement Specialist: Indirect Category

We are seeking a highly skilled Procurement Specialist to join our procurement team. The primary responsibility of this role is to create and maintain procurement strategies for indirect spent materials, processes, and procedures.

  • Reporting to the Procurement Manager, the Procurement Specialist will be responsible for identifying suppliers, comparing prices, specifications, terms, and delivery dates to determine the optimum one to utilize.
  • The candidate will also respond to internal and supplier inquiries, reviewing metrics, roadmaps, project plans, management reports, contracts, and approve appropriate requisitions.
  • Establish measurable supplier performance and conduct regular review; calculate the total cost of ownership.
  • Establish procurement strategies for acquisition, receiving, and tracking of project materials that optimize quality, cost, and timely delivery criteria.
  • Coordinate supplier selection, credit, and terms, track supplier performance standards, and conduct ongoing evaluation.
  • Conduct research via the Internet, catalogues, trade publications, and trade shows to identify potential suppliers and liaise on pricing.

Our ideal candidate has:

  • A minimum 2-3 years' experience in a procurement, logistics, or administrative role.
  • Strong systems and process knowledge, preferably SAP.
  • Ability to multitask and possess analytical skills.
