About the Role

This position reports directly to the Electrical & Automation Supervisor and is a hands-on role based in our manufacturing facility at Wellcamp. The key responsibilities include undertaking day-to-day electrical work throughout Wagners CFT, adhering to statutory requirements for Workplace Health and Safety, and completing tasks within project and operational timeframes.

Main Responsibilities:
  • E nsure comprehensive training and compliance in Wagner's Safety Management System at all operations.
  • Understand and adhere to Wagner's risk management policies and practices, identifying and tracking project risks and issues.
  • Accountable for undertaking day-to-day electrical operations, ensuring scheduled industrial electrical installation, maintenance work, and emergency breakdowns are completed within required timeframes.
  • Ensure accurate completion of all electrical work undertaken to reduce rework, faults, and breakdowns.
  • Verify that all electrical work conducted by external contractors meets Wagners and Statutory requirements.
  • Monitor and work to minimize costs associated with electrical repair and maintenance, prolonging the life operation of machinery and reducing downtime.
  • Investigate plant or equipment deficiencies leading to out-of-spec finished goods and assist in ensuring BRC and other standards are met.
  • Work with PLCs, variable speed drives, and other automation technologies.
  • Provide professional advice to Wagners' Managers regarding electrical planning and electrical operations required for efficient plant and equipment operation.
  • Ensure work is performed in a responsive and positive manner.
  • Respond to unforeseen circumstances and emergency situations.
  • Other duties related to the role.

Requirements and Qualifications:

  • Post-trade experience in the installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial electrical equipment.
  • Experience with electric motors and control wiring.
  • Ability to interpret drawings and make necessary changes.
  • Pneumatic and hydraulic control wiring knowledge.
  • Familiarity with PLCs, variable speed drives, other automation equipment, and AS3000 will be highly regarded.
  • Awareness and understanding of WH & S Electrical Safety Standards.
  • Electrical Trade Qualification (electrical Fitter /Electrician).
  • First Aid Certificate.
  • LRV Certificate.
