Job Opportunity

Lead the Development of a National Training Team.

Our organization is building technical capability for the future with a dedicated national training facility. We need a forward-thinking, hands-on leader to spearhead technical training programs across the country.

This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of a critical function during a period of investment and transformation. You'll lead a skilled team from day one while shaping the future of training delivery as we bring our new training facility to life.

Your Mission

As the Training Manager, you will lead a nationally distributed training team and oversee our technical training programs for internal employees and customers. Your initial focus will be on capability development and training program design, laying the groundwork for scalable delivery from our new facility in Perth.

In this role, you will:

  • Lead and support a national team including Technical Trainers, Training Coordinators, and an Apprentice Coordinator
  • Conduct national training needs analyses to identify skills gaps and priority areas for both internal and external stakeholders
  • Develop structured technical training programs across equipment, automation systems, and digital platforms
  • Align training content with operational and business needs through close collaboration with Product Management, Engineering, Service, and HR
  • Oversee apprenticeship and capability development pathways for tradespeople and early-career technicians
  • Build frameworks for product inductions, competency-based progression, certification, and compliance training
  • Support the design and delivery model of the new training facility, ensuring it meets future operational and learning requirements
  • Drive a strong training culture across the organization with a focus on safety, technical excellence, and continuous improvement
About the Role

You're an experienced and passionate training leader who thrives on building teams, programs, and systems that drive capability and performance. You're just as comfortable managing people as you are designing strategic frameworks—and you want to make a lasting impact.

You bring:

  • Proven experience in a training management or senior training role in mining, construction, or heavy industry
  • Demonstrated success leading training teams and driving national programs or initiatives
  • Strong experience in technical or equipment-based training development and delivery
  • Experience supporting or managing apprenticeship programs, including mentoring and competency progression
  • Understanding of adult learning principles and competency-based frameworks (Cert IV TAE desirable)
  • Solid technical knowledge in mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic systems, or experience with mobile or drill equipment
  • Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to influence across departments and levels
Why Our Organization?

Our organization is a global leader in mining and infrastructure solutions—and we know that people are at the centre of that success. Our investment in a state-of-the-art training facility in Perth is a testament to our commitment to continuous improvement, safety, and technical leadership.

This is your opportunity to lead a high-performing training team with national scope, shape the design and impact of a new training facility, drive capability development during a period of exciting transformation, work in a collaborative, values-driven environment, access long-term career development in a global company, and enjoy competitive remuneration and flexible work arrangements.
