Heavy Diesel Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our Cairns Field Service Team at Hastings Deering.
About the RoleThis is a Permanent, full-time position that offers an excellent opportunity for trade-qualified diesel fitters to work with CAT machinery and provide top-notch service to customers across northern Australia.
The role involves traveling to various customer projects to repair, maintain, and service key CAT machinery. You will be responsible for breakdown diagnostics, warranty support, customer labour support, scheduled servicing, and repairs. Your goal will be to minimize production downtime by prioritizing work to meet required timeframes and ensure customers receive the highest quality of service while increasing equipment performance.

About YouTo succeed in this role, you will need relevant trade qualifications in heavy diesel, demonstrated service and repair experience on CAT machinery, experience with Caterpillar Diagnostic Systems or similar, and a proven ability to maintain a high level of workplace health and safety.
You must have excellent time management skills, a strong commitment to quality control, and the ability to work autonomously and unsupervised as required. A customer-driven focus and commitment to continuous improvement are essential for success in this role.
