Regional HSE Manager

We are seeking a highly skilled Regional HSE Manager to lead our health, safety, and environmental initiatives in Queensland, Papua New Guinea, and New Zealand. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for implementing and sustaining a positive health, safety, and environmental culture across our sites.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and Implement Health, Safety, and Environmental Programs: Establish short-term and long-term strategic plans to foster continual health, safety, and environmental improvement. Lead programs, policies, and assessments to ensure compliance with Cummins internal requirements, applicable health, safety, and environmental regulations, and industry standards.
- Build and Maintain Relationships: Foster strong relationships across functions to ensure the organization understands and is accountable for their roles and responsibilities in driving a positive health, safety, and environmental culture.
- Lead Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment: Identify strategic risk improvement opportunities and gaps in health, safety, and environmental compliance obligations through hazard identification, environmental aspect identification, and risk assessment programs.
- Manage Planning and Operations: Set targets and objectives for the site and drive actions to completion. Lead an effective support model throughout the site through training, skills development, and internal communications.
- Develop and Manage Support Content: Ensure support content is up-to-date, controlled, and available while adhering to data privacy regulations.
- Interface with Regulatory Bodies: Interface with external regulatory bodies as required with the support of the legal department.
- Lead Health, Safety, and Environmental Operations: Provide subject matter expertise on complex issues, including health, safety, and environmental compliance, capital and resource management, risk reduction, incident investigation, management of change, contractor safety, emergency preparedness and response, pollution prevention, and environmental sustainability.
- Drive Improvement to Health, Safety, and Environmental Performance: Use a risk-based and data-driven approach to drive improvement to health, safety, and environmental performance metrics. Adhere to Cummins internal reporting requirements through approved systems.
- Evaluate Site Health, Safety, and Environmental Data: Evaluate site health, safety, and environmental data, legal compliance findings, and internal and external audit results to build a tactical improvement plan.
- Lead Health, Safety, and Environmental Management Systems Review: Lead site(s) Health, Safety, and Environmental Management Systems review annually in conformance with Cummins internal requirements.
- Lead Cross-Functional Teams: Lead work cross-functionally as required to resolve work-related incidents, non-compliances, non-conformities, corrective and preventive actions driving continual improvement within the site(s). Coach and develop direct reports and cross-functional teams based on stakeholder feedback, observations, and succession plan needs.
College, university, or equivalent degree in Occupational Health, Safety, or Environmental required. Professional certification in HSE-related field preferred. Significant relevant experience required, including management of health, safety, and/or environmental ISO Standards required. 5-7 years of experience, 1-2 years management experience.
This role will be a fixed-term position for 12 months.
