Empowering Individuals with Disabilities:

This role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with disabilities.

As a Disability Support Practitioner, you will play a vital role in empowering these individuals to reach their full potential.

You will assist with daily tasks, promote community inclusion, and encourage client participation in skill-building activities.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients with daily living tasks, including personal care and hygiene
  • Promote community inclusion by identifying and facilitating engagement opportunities based on client interests
  • Encourage client participation in community activities, with support ratios ranging from 1:1 to 1:4
  • Foster physical health, communication skills, teamwork, self-confidence, and overall wellbeing

About the Role:

  • Work within a day centre program, supporting individuals with varying disabilities and active supports
  • Develop strong interpersonal skills, particularly with an understanding, sensitivity, and respect for participants' abilities, strengths, and circumstances
  • Maintain and update programs, file notes, and documents as required
  • Experience working in day centre work and with behaviours of concern

Key Requirements:

  • Certificate III in Disability or equivalent qualification
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification
  • Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
  • Current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
  • Completion of the NDIS Worker Orientation Module
