About the Position

As a lead engineer for machine control, you will be responsible for overseeing the operation of new equipment in the field.

The role requires advanced skills in fault finding across machine control and hydraulic systems, as well as the ability to find solutions in challenging environments under time pressure.

This new equipment system further advances our ability to deliver projects in more diverse soil types with greater efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Be a visible leader in safety, proactive in continual improvement in the welfare of people interacting with the organization.
  • Fault find electronic machine control and hydraulic systems in the field.
  • Assume responsibility for machine control performance in the field, be the subject matter expert on the machines and their operation.
  • Attend field trials, complete daily maintenance on machinery, calibrate and verify machine performance.
  • Attend testing sites, address machine control failures.
  • Review machine performance logs, work with R&D as new versions are released.
  • Manage service partners and administer all WO's and parts requests.
  • Localize training content to the local market.
Requirements:
  • A background in heavy machine controls engineering or a related field will be highly regarded.
  • Leadership skills with the ability to communicate at multiple levels.
  • Proven ability to develop and manage relationships.
  • Demonstrated experience with heavy diesel machinery and associated hydraulic and electronic machine control systems.
  • Advanced fault-finding ability in machine control systems.
  • Affinity for mechanical machinery and control systems.
  • Ideal experience within the construction industry.
  • Preferably experience within a business excellence environment.
  • A willingness to travel to remote sites.
  • Citizenship or residency within the country.
