About Cyber Security Professional Role

Seeking an experienced cyber security professional to provide strategic support and maintain onsite ICT systems within the Defence industry.

This is a key role in contributing to the protection of information on Defence systems. The successful candidate will report to the Group Lead of ICT Systems and Cyber Security.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform Linux security administration and account management.
  • Conduct vulnerability risk assessments and regular vulnerability scans of Defence systems.
  • Assist in maintaining and improving security strength.
  • Perform secure data control operations.
  • Provide security advice to projects and engineering changes relating to simulations.
  • Document IT infrastructure planning and enhancement.
  • Provide ICT security briefings.
  • Clean computer hardware and network devices according to ISM requirements.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Able to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance to NV1.
  • 3-5 years' experience or relevant qualification in at least one of the following domains: Asset Security, Communication and Network Security, Identify and Access Management, Security and Risk Management, Security Operations and Security Engineering.
  • Network administration or system administration experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Active Directory and Group Policy.
  • Knowledge of UNIX based Operating System (AIX, Linux etc.) and patch management (Windows, Linux & VMware).
  • Strong knowledge of computer hardware, network devices, and protocols.
  • Expertise in Australian Information Security Manual (ISM), Defence Security Principles Framework (DSPF) and Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF).
