Coding Auditor/Educator Hospitals

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Coding Specialist to join our team at St John of God Health Care. As a key member of our National Coding Team, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and compliance of clinical coding across our hospitals.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct comprehensive audits of clinical coding to ensure accuracy and compliance with Australian Coding Standards.
- Manage and coordinate health fund contract audits to optimize revenue.
- Collaborate with our Coding Auditor/Educators to identify areas for improvement and skill building, with the objective of continually improving coding accuracy.
- Plan, develop, and implement ongoing coding education to our National Coding Team, ensuring programs enable the growth and development of both new and existing team members.
- Assist with managing the coding trainee program to ensure the development of future coding specialists.
- Identify clinical documentation deficiencies during coding audits and provide recommendations to our Clinical Documentation Specialists.
- Participate in other clinical coding audit and education functions as required.
To succeed in this role, you will possess:
- A minimum of 5 years' experience in clinical coding using the current ICD-10-AM Edition in the Australian Health Sector.
- Experience in auditing clinical coding, with tertiary hospital experience advantageous.
- Experience in providing coding education is desirable.
- A Bachelor of Health Information Management (or equivalent tertiary qualification) or Clinical Coding qualification.
- Eligibility for full HIMAA membership.
