**Structural Engineer Opportunities**

At Stantec, we have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Structural Engineer to join our Community Development team. In this role, you will work on structural elements of large civil projects, including small bridges, retaining walls, stormwater and wastewater pits, drainage pits, retaining walls, and culverts.

The Community Development team delivers a variety of projects across numerous disciplines and sectors. We activate urban downtowns, suburban centers, small towns, and rural areas—and the multimodal corridors that connect us to the places we work, live, and thrive.

As a Senior Structural Engineer, you will support the Civil Design team in designing structural elements of large civil projects. Your day-to-day tasks will involve:

  • Designing structural elements of large civil projects, including small bridges, retaining walls, stormwater and wastewater pits, drainage pits, retaining walls, and culverts.
  • Maintaining and assessing large-scale assets
  • Scoping, designing, and providing construction support
  • Staying up-to-date with construction methods and materials, and their impact on design and construction
  • Delivering practical and innovative engineering solutions for clients
  • Collaborating across disciplines to deliver a complete solution to a project
  • Ensuring technical work and design calculations are of the highest standard
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in Engineering
  • Demonstrated structural design experience of large Civil Projects
  • Ideal experience within a consulting environment
  • RPEQ (Structural) accreditation (preferred)
  • Knowledge of RAM Concept, SpaceGass, or ETABS
  • Experience working with various structural materials
  • Familiarity with current Australian design codes
  • Analysis, design, reporting, and presentation skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
