Georges River Council is seeking a highly skilled Paralegal/Graduate Lawyer to join their Governance and Risk team. As a key member of the team, you will provide high-quality research and administration services to support the activities associated with access to information applications, internal privacy reviews, insurance claims, policy development, and maintenance of public disclosure registers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide research and administrative support to the Governance and Risk team
  • Assist with the development and maintenance of policies and procedures
  • Conduct thorough research and prepare correspondence, reports, and other written documentation
  • Collaborate with the team to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulations
Requirements
  • Qualifications in the legal field or equivalent experience in a related field
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply relevant legislation, such as the Local Government Act 1993 and the Government Information (Public Access) Act 2009
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure with multiple issues and competing deadlines
What We Offer
  • Casual opportunity with up to 5 days per week (35 hours per week)
  • Hourly rate from $58.35 inclusive of casual loading plus 11.5% superannuation
