Mccloskey by OPIS, a leading provider of market intelligence and price indexes, is seeking a skilled research analyst to cover the seaborne metallurgical coal and coke market.

About the Role

This critical role requires an individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment with daily deadlines. The successful candidate will be part of a motivated group of analysts and have opportunities for fundamental research within the global raw materials team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Track supply and demand fundamentals of the seaborne metallurgical coal and coke market.
  • Report on metallurgical coal prices and develop an understanding of pricing drivers.
  • Research and write breaking market news and analytical pieces.
  • Engage with clients and industry professionals through various channels.
Requirements
  • At least 5 years of experience in the commodity space as a reporter/researcher.
  • Nose for news and storytelling ability.
  • Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Strong quantitative skills are advantageous.
