About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Mathematics Education Leader to join our team at The Knox School. As a key member of our faculty, you will be responsible for inspiring excellence in teaching and learning, fostering intellectual inquiry, and demonstrating innovative pedagogy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement contemporary and diverse pedagogical practices to suit the educational needs of students.
  • Provide detailed direction and leadership to the Mathematics department, ensuring a positive and dynamic working environment.
  • Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including students, parents, and colleagues.
  • Engage in ongoing professional learning and research in best teaching practice.
Requirements
  • Current VIT registration and Current Police Check.
  • Demonstrated experience across Year 7 to VCE Mathematics.
  • Ability to inspire excellence in teaching and learning, fostering intellectual inquiry and demonstrating innovative pedagogy.
  • Thorough understanding of contemporary wellbeing and student management practices.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships across the broader community.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the School's obligations in respect of Ministerial Order No. 1359, the Reportable Conduct Scheme, mandatory reporting, record keeping in relation to student safety and wellbeing, and the failure to disclose and failure to protect offences.
  • Ability to adhere to the School's policies and student safety practices, including those detailed in the Student Safety at The Knox School Handbook.
  • Supportive and respectful attitude to students and their families, with a commitment to building positive connections with all members of the school community.
  • Current Level 2 First Aid Qualification, including CPR, Anaphylaxis and Asthma Training.
