About the Role
The Principal Policy Officer position is a leadership role that requires delivering high-quality policy research and advice to support transparency, consumer protections and affordability in Victoria's energy retail market. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of Victorian and national energy frameworks with a focus on consumers.

Key Responsibilities
This role involves leading policy development and delivery through liaison with government processes. It also requires providing advice on energy consumer policy matters. A current understanding of the Victorian energy framework as it relates to consumers is highly desirable.

Requirements
To be successful in this role, you will need:
  • Appropriate tertiary qualification(s) in public policy, economics or law.
  • Strong experience with government processes with a focus on policy development and delivery.
  • Understanding of Victorian and national energy frameworks with a focus on consumers.

Benefits
This is a fixed-term position available for 24 months. The work location is flexible within Victoria with hybrid work arrangements available. The ideal candidate will be required to undertake pre-employment screening, including a Declaration and Consent form and a National Police Check. Eligibility for appointment requires corresponding work rights for the advertised period. Appointment to an ongoing position is limited to an Australian/New Zealand citizen or an Australian Permanent Resident.
