Lead Instrumentation and Controls Designer

Wood is seeking a highly skilled Lead Instrumentation and Controls Designer to join our Operations business in Perth CBD. As part of our strategic growth plan, this role will play a pivotal part in our partnership with a major player in the Oil & Gas industry on a major brownfields Engineering Service Contract.

About the Role

This permanent role is available as a full-time or part-time (job share) basis and requires a suitably qualified individual with a strong background in Instruments & Controls certificate from a recognised institution. Ideally, you will have proven experience working in a similar Lead Instrument/Principal Instrument Design role, supported by 15+ years of relevant design engineering experience within the Oil & Gas production and/or processing industries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and delivery of instrumentation and controls systems for brownfields Oil & Gas projects.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and internal stakeholders to ensure operational excellence and contribute to the competitive advantage of #teamwood.
  • Manage and mentor a team of instrumentation and controls engineers to deliver high-quality designs and solutions.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, technologies, and regulatory requirements to ensure the delivery of innovative and safe solutions.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless project delivery and meet client expectations.
Requirements
  • Proven experience working in a similar Lead Instrument/Principal Instrument Design role.
  • 15+ years of relevant design engineering experience within the Oil & Gas production and/or processing industries.
  • Strong knowledge of instrumentation and controls systems, including design, installation, and commissioning.
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Ability to work lawfully in Australia and hold full working rights for this location.
