Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled Risk Assessment Specialist to join our team at the Footscray Hospital. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring a safe and compliant hospital environment by conducting regular risk assessments, safety audits, and inspections.

About the Role:
  • Ensure compliance with all workplace health and safety (WHS) regulations and hospital policies.
  • Develop, implement, and review safety procedures and emergency response plans to minimize the risk of injury or illness.
  • Conduct regular risk assessments, safety audits, and inspections to identify potential hazards and develop strategies for mitigation.
  • Investigate workplace incidents, identify root causes, and recommend corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Strong understanding of Australian WHS regulations and legislation.
  • Proven ability to develop and implement WHS policies and procedures in a healthcare or high-risk environment.
  • Experience working with regulatory bodies such as Safe Work Australia and WorkSafe.
  • Relevant qualifications in WHS, risk management, or a related field (Cert IV or Diploma in Work Health and Safety preferred).
  • Must hold or be able to obtain a national police clearance.
