District Health Specialist for Aboriginal Communities

The role of Aboriginal District Coordinator involves providing high-level leadership in implementing strategic directions for Aboriginal Health. This includes overseeing the development of services for Aboriginal people, workforce development, and governance.
- This position requires a deep understanding of Aboriginal culture and the issues affecting Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander people with mental health and substance use issues.
- Highly developed problem-solving skills and the ability to drive excellence in service delivery are essential requirements.
We seek an experienced professional who can provide expert advice on Aboriginal health matters and contribute to the development of strategies that promote the health and wellbeing of Aboriginal communities.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinate district initiatives to improve health outcomes for Aboriginal people;
- Develop and implement strategies to address the unique health needs of Aboriginal communities;
- Collaborate with stakeholders to build partnerships and secure funding for projects;
- Maintain accurate records and reports to ensure transparency and accountability.
About You
To be successful in this role, you must be of Aboriginal descent, have relevant tertiary qualifications or extensive experience in a large service industry organisation, and possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
