Secure Journeys has been selected to operate Australia's Onshore Immigration Detention Network on behalf of the Australian Government.

Spotless, as a subcontractor to Secure Journeys, will be responsible for preparing and serving culturally diverse, nutritious meals contributing to the overall health and well-being of those in the centres.

An **Assistant Catering Manager** role is available to join the Spotless team, supporting health and wellbeing by delivering nutritious, culturally appropriate, and medically tailored meals.

This role focuses on delivering high-quality food services that meet stringent health and safety standards.

The role requires overseeing catering services, managing stores, assembling, preparing, and producing food requirements, and supervising a team to ensure all operations run smoothly.

To be successful, you'll need strong leadership skills, knowledge of food services, and experience in hospitality management.

You'll also require relevant certifications, such as a Certificate IV in Hospitality (Kitchen Operations) and a Food Handlers Certificate.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supporting the Site Catering Manager in overseeing catering services and store management
  • Overseeing the assembly, preparation, and production of food requirements
  • Providing direction to catering assistants to ensure food is prepared to specification and on time
  • Rostering and supervising the Catering Services team to ensure they are adequately trained and certified

Required qualifications and skills include:

  • Certificate IV in Hospitality (Kitchen Operations)
  • Food Handlers Certificate
  • Hospitality operational service delivery experience with solid people management skills
  • Extensive knowledge of food services and relevant food products
  • Knowledge of statutory obligations of Food Safety Standards and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points (HACCP) Program
