PHE invites applications for a Graduate Accountant to join our team in our corporate office. If you are looking for a fast-paced, diverse role where you will be supported as you start your accounting career while gaining exposure into the mining and construction industry, this is a fantastic opportunity.

With 50 years of experience, PHE provides electrical and instrumentation operations support services to clients throughout Australia, including mining, hydropower generation, remote gas power generation plants, food and beverage, pulp and paper manufacturing, and timber processing industries. We pride ourselves on excellent care for our clients and employees alike.

We are a growing industrial electrical contracting company with projects and branch locations in NSW, QLD, SA, and WA that offers its employees a safe, efficient, and rewarding work environment promoting personal and professional growth.

This is a full-time graduate accountant role where you will need to demonstrate excellent attention to detail and time management skills with the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.

Your responsibilities include:

  • Preparing monthly balance sheet reconciliations
  • Preparing monthly general journal postings: depreciation, accruals, prepayments
  • Posting inter-company debtor/creditor settlements and loan reconciliations
  • Reconciling plant and equipment leases
  • Maintaining trust ledgers, bank reconciliations, and trial balances (excel and Xero)
  • Assisting group accountant with monthly reporting and year-end processes
  • Reconciling wages and superannuation
  • Assisting with ad-hoc projects
  • Liaising with administration teams across the business


You will bring the following skills and experience to the role:
  • Good understanding of Excel & Microsoft Office Suite
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of Xero and MYOB EXO is preferred, but not essential
  • Problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work autonomously and part of a team


The successful candidate will have:
  • Qualification in Business, Finance, or Accounting
  • Be able to pass a national police check
