We are seeking a dedicated EHS Specialist to join our Energy team in Australia. As a key member of the team, you will support the construction lifecycle of projects, ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
Your primary responsibilities will include creating Environmental, Health, and Safety Management Plans, tracking progress, and ensuring deadlines are met. You will also assist project and construction managers in achieving their EHS obligations, including contractor management, risk mitigation, and compliance across all project phases.
In addition, you will provide input on risk assessments, procedures, work instructions, and initiatives to simplify and enhance frontline safety in construction and energy environments. Your analytical skills will be utilized to collect, analyze, and report EHS data, including event reports, audits, inspections, and corrective actions; prepare performance reports, track metrics, and present findings to drive continuous improvement.
As an EHS Specialist, you will be responsible for supporting event analysis, follow-up actions, management, and process enhancements; conducting inspections and audits on employees and contractors, enforcing standards with urgency and attention to detail.
- Key Responsibilities:
- Create Environmental, Health, and Safety Management Plans
- Assist project and construction managers in achieving EHS obligations
- Provide input on risk assessments and procedures
- Analyze and report EHS data
- Support event analysis and process enhancements
To succeed in this role, you will need a degree or diploma in occupational safety, environmental science, project management, or a related field (or equivalent experience). Additionally, you will require 1-3 years of hands-on experience in construction, such as site work, safety coordination, or related fieldwork, with a proven ability to handle demanding physical and operational challenges.
You must be proficient in Microsoft Office suite and data analytics, and possess strong bias for action: proactive, creative, and innovative in solving problems, with a hardcore work ethic and hunger to push through obstacles.
- Requirements:
- Degree or diploma in occupational safety or related field
- 1-3 years of hands-on experience in construction
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and data analytics
- Strong bias for action and problem-solving skills
This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic team and contribute to our mission of accelerating the world's transition to sustainable energy.
