Relief Community Manager / Relief Cook

This role requires a skilled and adaptable individual to support both community operations and kitchen duties. Key responsibilities include overseeing day-to-day management of the community, ensuring high standards in cleanliness, maintenance, resident satisfaction, and occupancy.

The successful candidate will prepare and serve quality meals, manage stock and food safety, maintain a clean, compliant kitchen and dining area, and foster a welcoming environment for residents. They will also lead and support staff, provide feedback, manage rosters, and ensure contractors meet service expectations.

Additional requirements include handling tenancy paperwork, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring adherence to legislation, policies, and safety standards. A strong focus on health and safety is essential, with daily site audits and risk management being key components of this role.

  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Manage day-to-day park operations, ensuring high standards in cleanliness, maintenance, resident satisfaction, and occupancy.
    • Prepare and serve quality meals, manage stock and food safety, and maintain a clean, compliant kitchen and dining area.
    • Foster a welcoming environment, support social activities, and build positive relationships with residents while respecting their privacy.
    • Lead and support staff, provide feedback, manage rosters, and ensure contractors meet service expectations.
    • Handle tenancy paperwork, maintain accurate records, and ensure adherence to legislation, policies, and safety standards.
    • Conduct daily site audits, manage risks, and ensure safe use of chemicals and equipment in line with WHS and food safety requirements.

About You:

  • You must have current First Aid Certificate, Food Safety Supervisor Certificate (or willingness to obtain), and a valid 'C' class driver's licence.
  • You should be able to manage staff, give constructive feedback, and communicate effectively with residents and stakeholders.
  • You will need strong decision-making skills, ability to respond to emergencies, and a proactive approach to resolving issues.
  • You must have passion for cooking in volume, understanding of HACCP and food safety standards, and commitment to delivering high-quality meals.
  • You should be self-motivated, well-presented, able to work unsupervised, and collaborate positively with the broader team.
  • You will need to be comfortable with lifting, bending, standing for long periods, and using kitchen and cleaning equipment safely with PPE.
