Food and Beverage Service Associate

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic Food and Beverage Attendant to join our dynamic Events Team at Hamilton Island. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of events and providing exceptional service to our guests.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with the setup and teardown of event spaces, including arranging furniture, setting up equipment, and ensuring all areas are prepared according to specifications.
- Deal with guest requests, enquiries and complaints in an efficient and courteous manner, ensuring the highest level of guest satisfaction at all times.
- Prioritise the health and safety of our staff and guests, including guests' dietary requirements.
- Provide the tools, training and mentoring to allow our team to consistently deliver guest service to high standards, and in accordance with our specifications and procedures.
- Assist the Events Management Team to identify any staff development needs and implement training.
- Ensure our staff are appreciated and rewarded for their efforts to increase longevity.
- Perform opening and closing duties as required, including cashiering functions.
- Regularly report to and communicate effectively with the management team.

You will have:
- Ability to work long hours on your feet, handle physical tasks, and adapt to changing environments.
- Willingness to work a varied roster including evenings, weekends, and holidays as event schedules demand.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for delivering excellent service to guests.
- Ability to work well in a team-oriented environment, taking direction and supporting your colleagues.
- Quick thinker who can handle unexpected situations effectively and calmly.
- Prior experience in events, hospitality, or a related field is preferred but not essential. We value enthusiasm and a willingness to learn.
- Previous experience working in Food and Beverage/Events.
- Ability to demonstrate knowledge and skill set in banqueting, conferences and events.
- Strong beverage, wine and cocktail knowledge.
- Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Current Nationally Recognised 'Responsible Service of Alcohol'.
- Drivers Licence.
- Impeccable grooming and personal presentation.
