Strategic Urban Planner for School Infrastructure

As a key member of the Education Directorate's planning team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future of education in the ACT. With a focus on strategic urban planning, your expertise will be instrumental in identifying and selecting sites for new schools, as well as planning for the expansion of existing ones.

The ability to interpret and respond to ACT development proposals that may impact existing schools or require future ones is essential. You will have the opportunity to manage a diverse range of projects that ensure strategic planning and detailed site planning meet the Directorate's requirements for well-located and timely school infrastructure.

We are seeking an experienced built environment professional with a sound understanding of the ACT land use planning process and project management skills. Proficiency in procuring and managing consultants is highly desirable. Your strategic planning skills and experience will enable you to tackle complex challenges and contribute to creating an inclusive environment where people from diverse backgrounds can thrive.

To succeed in this role, you will need relevant tertiary qualifications in urban/town planning, urban design, architecture, or a related land-use planning field. Experience with the Microsoft Office suite is also highly desirable.

This position offers an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, contributing to the growth and development of the ACT's education sector. We offer a competitive salary package including $95,612 - $118,396 per annum (plus 10% superannuation). The salary range has been estimated based on the job description, location, and industry standards.
