As part of the NSW Aboriginal Population Health Training Initiative, you will embark on a comprehensive traineeship lasting three years. This extensive program comprises two main components:

Work-based placements

You will participate in an exciting series of work-based placements within the health service, gaining hands-on experience and developing your skills in various areas.

Study towards Master of Public Health degree

Additionally, you will engage in part-time study towards a Master of Public Health degree at a NSW-based university, equipping you with advanced knowledge and expertise in public health.

Candidates should meet the following criteria:

  • Be of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent.
  • Have sound knowledge of social, cultural, political, and health issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, families, and communities.
  • Demonstrate understanding of the social determinants of health for Aboriginal children and young people.
  • Display experience in project design, data collation, presentation, and report-writing.
  • Hold a recognised undergraduate degree or meet admission requirements for the postgraduate degree of Master of Public Health at a NSW university.
