Ordnance Technician

At Thales, we're driving progress in the defense industry by providing innovative solutions for our customers. As an Ordnance Technician, you'll play a critical role in ensuring the reliability and effectiveness of our radar mechanical systems installed in RAN vessels and establishments.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide depot-level and field engineering services for radar mechanical systems, including installation, commissioning, and testing.
- Support above-water and underwater weapons systems and support systems.
- Provide guidance to junior technical staff and other trades on mechanical systems installation, commissioning, and testing.
- Assist customers with technical issues and provide rational and sustainable resolutions.
- Foster a working environment that meets customer requirements.
- Undertake minor projects and tasks, including technical direction and progress reporting.
- Prepare technical reports and procedures for above-water and underwater weapons systems and support systems.
- Attend sea acceptance trials and conduct system alignment and defect investigations as required.
Requirements:
- 12 appropriate modules of a National Diploma or Advanced Diploma, or equivalent.
- Driver's license - Class C.
- Ability to work in a shipboard environment, including climbing ladders, masts, and confined spaces.
- Availability for weekend and shift work as required.
