Plastics Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Plastics Technician to join our team at AYVA Packaging Group. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for conducting all necessary preparations, set-ups, and troubleshooting on Injection Moulding Machines to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime.

• Production
  • Set up, operate, and troubleshoot injection moulding machines to ensure efficient production and minimal waste.
  • Perform quality tests and ensure that all products manufactured meet the required standards.
  • Identify and implement corrective action plans to address any issues or defects.
  • Develop and implement preventative action plans to maintain machine cycle times and optimize production.
• Continuous Improvement
  • Maintain accurate records of non-conformances and downtime to identify areas for improvement.
  • Contribute to the development of measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of products.
• Housekeeping
  • Ensure the work area is clean and free from debris, and that all equipment is properly maintained.
• Safety
  • Adhere to site-specific safety guidelines and wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.

• High School Certificate (HSC) or Certificate in Process Manufacturing.
• Solid mechanical knowledge and experience with die setting, insert changes, and machine start-up and shutdown.
• Proficient in the use of In Mould Labelling and experience with troubleshooting to maintain quality standards.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work autonomously.
• Good communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to lift heavy equipment up to 15kg.
