Assembly Production Specialist

As an Assembly Technician, you will be responsible for assembling and testing Fibre-Optic Gyroscopes and their sub-assemblies in Sydney.

The key tasks of this role include:

  • Assembling and testing sub-assemblies and final products according to assembly instructions, meeting quality standards and target times.
  • Inspecting incoming optical parts and assemblies, as well as various optical hardware, against Incoming goods checklists, meeting quality standards and target times.
  • Calibrating and testing sub-assemblies and final products according to Assembly Instructions and quality standards.
  • Recording assembly data and test data in work instructions.
  • Executing allocated builds through a company ERP system.

To succeed in this role, you will require:

  • Experience in handling and understanding Fibre-Optic and Fibre-Optic assemblies.
  • Operational experience with Fibre-optic equipment, including cleaving and splicing.
  • General experience with electronic hardware and test equipment.
  • Soldering skills (IPC-610 not essential).
  • A focus on high quality, precision, and attention to detail, with a willingness to learn the products in a specialist industry.
  • General computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and processing software.
  • High motivation, with an energetic, responsive, and decisive disposition.
  • Strong knowledge of WHS practices.
  • A proven high standard of attention to detail, time management, and 'follow-through'.

Prior experience in a similar role, exposure and operation within a quality management system (including ISO9001), and knowledge of six sigma/5S work practices would be highly regarded.
