About the Role

This is an excellent opportunity for professionals with experience working with children, young people, and families to join the CASPA Therapeutic Care Team on a casual basis.

As a Therapeutic Care Worker, you will have the chance to create a homely environment following the therapeutic framework and support plans for individualized care.

You will be supporting young people to attain their educational goals, engage in extracurricular activities aligned with their interests, and foster connections to community and family.

CASPA provides successful applicants with life skills, education, and training to achieve positive outcomes for our young people.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain professional, nurturing relationships with children and young people by building trust through visible interest and active engagement.
  • Serve as an appropriate adult role model, engaging young people in purposeful activities aimed at developing life skills and self-worth.
  • Support family involvement and facilitate family visits/connections and the promotion of positive family relationships with children and young people, tailored to individual needs.
  • Promote and encourage positive relationships with peers and other individuals significant to the child/young person.
  • Assist the child/young person to participate as fully as possible in making decisions about the activities undertaken.
  • Demonstrate empathy and understanding of complex trauma, incorporating this into everyday interactions, as well as responding to pain-based behavior in a sensitive and non-punitive way.
