About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Project Accountant to join our team at Programmed, a leading provider of operations and maintenance services across Australia and New Zealand. As a Project Accountant, you will play a critical role in supporting our government clients with financial management and analysis.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with Asset Planners and portfolio managers to develop annual State and Mid-Year budgets, ensuring alignment between the Capital Delivery team and Asset Planners.
  • Support Asset Planners in managing budgets and forecasting for programs, while identifying opportunities and mitigating risks, ensuring response plans are accurate and reflected in monthly reporting.
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships and collaborate with Infrastructure Planning and Strategy, Capital Delivery, and Infrastructure Management Office.
  • Conduct detailed analysis with business leaders on monthly forecasts, including cost estimates, risk, and opportunities.
  • Review projected costs in line with project schedules.
  • Demonstrate a drive to streamline and improve consistency and accuracy in financial sections, while working on process improvement to track and report ESCOSA outcomes and commitments.
Requirements
  • Degree qualified in accounting or business or equivalent experience
  • CA or CPA qualification
  • Experienced in infrastructure and project accounting with advanced excel skills
  • Proven experience in infrastructure accounting
  • Strong capital accounting experience
  • Competency in analytical tools - Power BI
  • Experience in capital work program including financial, schedule, and pipeline information
  • Experience in business partnering and building strong relationships to drive outcomes
  • High level knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications
  • Demonstrated ability to work both as part of a team and independently
  • Demonstrated ability to be flexible and adaptable to meet changing requirements and to provide support to others in an environment of change
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong work ethic and proactive
