About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Dredging Operations Manager to lead our Dredging Operations team at the Port of Brisbane.

As a key member of our Marine Leadership team, you will be responsible for delivering safe, effective, profitable, and efficient internal and external dredging services, maintaining channel and berth depths within the Port of Brisbane and meeting our external customer dredging requirements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Dredging Operations team to achieve strategic objectives and deliver high-quality results.
  • Develop and implement strategies to optimize dredging operations, improve safety, and reduce costs.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure effective communication and coordination of dredging activities.
  • Manage commercial contracts, including report running, analysis, invoicing, and forward planning.
  • Optimize profitability of operations and grow revenue sustainably.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations, standards, and best practices.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external customers, suppliers, and partners.
  • Contribute to the development of new build TSHD designs and deliveries.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant field, such as engineering, marine science, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in managing dredging operations, with a strong background in technical dredging expertise (TSHD and Cutter Suction).
  • Proven track record of delivering high-quality results, improving safety, and reducing costs.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple projects and changing priorities.
  • Experience in managing commercial contracts, including report running, analysis, invoicing, and forward planning.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with stakeholders at all levels.
