Job Title: Trade Ambassador

This role involves leading South Australia's international trade efforts and shaping the state's global economic engagement.

About the Role:

The Trade Ambassador plays a pivotal part in shaping and executing the state's trade strategy. This includes leading the development and delivery of trade programs and initiatives that support South Australian businesses to expand into global markets, strengthen international relationships and attract trade-related investment.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Lead a high-performing team to deliver market access strategies and grant initiatives.
  • Foster strong collaboration with industry, state and federal government partners and overseas networks.
  • Represent South Australia in high-level trade forums and partnerships.
  • Develop trade strategies that respond to global trends and local capabilities.
Requirements:

We are looking for an experienced executive with proven capability in driving cross-sector outcomes, managing complex stakeholder environments and delivering economic impact. You will have a strong understanding of international markets, trade policy and export development, as well as exceptional influencing skills and sound judgement.

This is a significant opportunity to lead South Australia's international trade efforts and shape the state's global economic engagement.

To succeed in this role, you will need to be a strategic thinker with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. You should have a strong network of contacts within the trade and business communities, and be able to build relationships quickly.

You will also need to be highly organized and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously. A bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as international trade, business or economics would be beneficial.

Additionally, you will need to be proficient in English and have a strong understanding of international markets and trade policies.
