About the Role

The Clean Energy Regulator is seeking a highly skilled and experienced legal professional to join its team as a Senior Legal Advisor

In this role, you will provide legal advice to the agency on a wide range of matters, including Clean Energy Regulator-specific legislation and general Commonwealth legislation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide timely and accurate legal advice to the Members of the Regulator, Senior Executive team and officers of the Clean Energy Regulator.
  • Manage and develop relationships with internal stakeholders, including the development and delivery of training packages.
  • Engage and liaise with external lawyers as appropriate.

About the Team

The Legal Services Section operates in tight coordination with the rest of the Branch to deliver services, including drafting and/or clearing legal documents, coordinating the conduct of administrative and civil action and litigation, and advising on FOI and Ombudsman schemes.

  • Managing and developing relationships with internal stakeholders, including the development and delivery of training packages.
  • Engaging and liaising with external lawyers as appropriate.

Requirements

  • Applicants should be admitted as a legal practitioner in the High Court or the Supreme Court of an Australian State or Territory and should hold, or be currently eligible to obtain, a restricted practicing certificate issued by the ACT Law Society.
