Job Opportunity: Disability Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate disability support worker to join our team. As a disability support worker, you will provide high-quality support to individuals with disabilities, enabling them to live independently and participate fully in their communities.

About the Role:

  • You will work closely with clients to understand their unique needs and preferences, developing personalized support plans that cater to their requirements.
  • Providing assistance with daily living activities, such as personal care, meal preparation, and household chores.
  • Supporting clients to participate in community activities, social events, and leisure pursuits.
  • Collaborating with other professionals, including healthcare workers, therapists, and family members, to ensure comprehensive support.
  • Documenting client progress, maintaining accurate records, and communicating effectively with colleagues and supervisors.

About You:

  • A strong understanding of the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) and its principles.
  • Experience supporting individuals with cerebral palsy or other physical disabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients, families, and colleagues.
  • A passion for delivering person-centered care, prioritizing client autonomy and dignity.
  • The ability to work flexibly, adapting to changing circumstances and priorities.

Requirements:

  • Certificate III in Individual Support or related qualification.
  • First Aid Certificate, Manual Handling Certificate, and NDIS Worker Screening Check.
  • A current driver's license and reliable vehicle.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
